Off-Season Activities

The busiest season for travelers officially ends in March, but this has no bearing on how you will experience life in Aruba. On the contrary, the island offers endless opportunities for tourists who visit during this time, including regular activities at a reduced price and even some celebrations that are only held during these next few months.

Whatever time of the year you visit Aruba, there is always something for your whole family to enjoy, from kite surfing on the beach to interesting cultural excursions to simply spending the day by the pool relaxing or frequenting local bars to party.

Upcoming Events in Aruba

Aruba’s most amazing experiences are usually their regular annual events; there are fun things to do all year, from holidays to carnivals. But, if you’re planning a trip soon, here are some of the most popular May events to look forward to that you should include in your Aruba life adventures.

Aruba Soul Beach Music Festival

The Soul Beach Music Festival takes place on Aruba’s One Happy Island from May 25th to May 30th, during Memorial Day weekend. This year’s edition, hosted by Chris Spencer and Dug E. Fresh, also marks SBMF’s 20th anniversary and will feature their best lineup ever!

The long weekend event, voted one of the Top 5 Caribbean Celebrations by USA Today and the #1 Caribbean Summer Festival by Jetsetter Magazine, includes beach and pool parties, comedy shows, social gatherings, and epic concerts complete with world-class artists.

Get ready, get set, go! The 30th Ronde Van Aruba is a traditional race held in May in which all competitors run along the island’s coastline. Individual, duo, relay, and speed marches are among the disciplines featured in the competition, which alternates between hard and unpaved sections.

The starting line for the participants will be located at Marinierskazerne Sporthal on Friday, May 20th, and the race will officially begin at 8 p.m. Athletes from all over the world will battle in this event for a spot on the podium. The winners will be announced on May 21st in a ceremony at Marinierskazerne Sporthal.

Aruba’s Nightlife

Aruba may not be widely known as the island that never sleeps, but it is very well-known for its vibrant and exciting nightlife. Almost every restaurant and bar hosts weekly programs complete with live music or DJs, happy-hours promotions, and themed shows like karaoke nights for locals and tourists wanting to have a great time and party in Aruba!

Exploring Aruba at night really allows you to try delicious food at award-winning restaurants and gives you a chance to appreciate gourmet cuisine from all over the world. No matter where you go, we guarantee that you will have the time of your life every single night!

There are many places to go and things to do in Aruba, whether you are planning a family vacation or a luxurious getaway. And, the off-season is really the best time to visit the island since these next few months are full of exciting events that you can definitely take advantage of.

We recommend booking your flight and all your accommodations for your visit in advance, as this will give you the advantage of being able to select what best suits your budget and specific needs. BlueAruba Rentals offers short-term rentals and the best amenities the island has to offer. So don’t wait!

Aruba lifted all local restrictions as of February 2022, thanks to the high vaccination rate (with over 85% of people vaccinated), the low number of people infected with COVID-19, and a shortage of people in intensive care units. Additionally, as of March 19, travelers are no longer required to present a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of vaccination.

Local facilities’ operating hours returned to normal in terms of activities and events on the island, with no restrictions on closing hours or capacity, including restaurants and bars. Locals and visitors don’t require the use of a mask in open areas, but some health protocols still apply, like social distancing when possible and safe hygiene practices throughout your visit.
